When I am in trim screen, I can only set my trim start point to a certain point, which means if I turn the knob so far it will stop advancing which means I can't trim the sample start beyond a certain point. How do I fix this? I am at os 1.4.

I thought you should be able to set the start point anywhere in the sample like the 2000.

J smacks,
I think we might know you, this is insult2injury! Anyway, your problem is simple on the bottom of the trim loop screen is the region soft key. The region section lets you chop a sample in set "regions" basically and adjustable time slice feature. The black area represents the region which cannot be edited, simply adjust it and return to the trim screen and chop away.

there is a glitch on version 1.4
the fine editing of samples cannot always be done..
This is a glitch that will be fixed in upcoming OS (at least thats what AKAI told me)
You can resample the sound via RECORD mode and chop it again which will work
But for tight editing you will often have this trouble
