Iv had a look in the aksys manual and its not there. I t would be handy to save the steps (sequences) that went into making a song so you could switch them around. Can it be done? A song only shows up in aksys when you convert it into a sequence.

In this case, you have to think inside the box, being the 4000 is the box! The sequencer is one of the power tools in this thing........Why would you want to use akysys for switching sequences around when you can do it all on the mpc itself?

i dont want to do that. If I have a Song. Then convert it to sequence. Save it using Aksys. Turn the MPC off. Go to sleep. Get up. Put the song back on the MPC. Notice I could have done with an extra sequence in the SONG. I want to change it on the MPC but the MPC no longer has the SONG page . It only has the song converted into the sequence., so it doesnt show
sequence 1-2 bars
sequence 2-3 bars etc.
So i cant edit it. I just want to save the song page so I can go back at a later stage and change it on the MPC.

I understand what you want but I don't think it is possible to transfer song data directly from the memory to you compouter. What you can do is save an "all sequences and songs" file to a storage device like the internal HD or an usb stick or anything and copy / transfer it to your computer.
