Ext 1-8

I understand that the ext 1-8 modulation sources are for using Q-link controls on programs. But I see only 6 q-link controls.

Is this a leftover from the Z8 sampler, as that has 8 Q-link controls or am I missing something?

I just moved from a Z8+2000xl to the 4000.

It has made the other two reduntant.

You've got it, they leave the source modulations in there, most likely so that programs are compatible with each of the machines. The z4 only has 4 knobs, but also has the 8 EXTs. Surprisingly, the hidden ones actually are functional, but you have to work some magic to use them (that is prob more trouble than its worth).
