How much did you pay for the 4000

ASnd what do you think is a good used price with the ram, full and the works.

I paid 1700.00 band new at GC. 272 ram, hard drive, cdrw.




I think 1200.00 to 1700.00 is a good used price, depending on configuration.

Damn Toranaga, how'd you come up on such a deal? I paid $2700 for mine brand new from zZounds.com. It came with 272mb RAM as well, 80gb hard drive, 52x24x52 CD-ROM drive. I've maxed out the RAM and I've added the 8-Output Analog Expansion Board - overall I've spent $3100. Was it worth it? Yes! I plan on getting the ADAT Expansion also because, at this point...i might as well.

P.S. I don't recommend you buying one of these machines used. It's bad enough that people don't know how to use them and you'd never know what's wrong with yours, if you ever got a damaged machine from one of those people. Buy one new, you'd be able to return it if there was damage done to it on its way to your house. That's just my opinion.

what about
full memory at 512m of ram. It also has a 75 gb internal hard drive. Comes equiped with IB -4D SPIDF interface card also an EB4JS multi-effects card.
and no box in white for 2000$

£990 for an x-demo with 16Mb RAM, 20Gb HD and nuthin more. Quickly bought black Plextor 52x, 512Mb RAM and 8-output (analog) for about £300.

I just got that 4000 for 1800.

Thats not a bad price, I talke dto the cat (a store) who sold it and he knew the guyt hat bought it and said it was in great condition. thanks for lookin out.

I helped out a stranger. in return he gave me his 4k and a focusrite isa pre-amp.

Sorry cant help you, I use langevin and manley preamps, Focusrites are terds in my opinion. If you want to make your tracks slam you should check out a 1073 or aurora audio 1073 remake.

I bought a floor model for $2000. The sales rep at GC told me to take the floor model home, and that he would order me a new boxed one.

A week went by, and he could not find a boxed mpc. So he called me up and said come on down, and I will give you $300 back.


I have added every availble upgrade to mine, bring total cost to @2300.

All great gear for sure. Matter of fact the last time I was up in the Record Plant, they were like, "Dog, we really would have bought that track from you if you had run your kick through a 1073 remake".

that's what I call favor baby...I caught a guy at GC selling his for $1100 I offered him $1200 he took it,right place, right time.some guy's just don't know how to work it,you just got to be a mpc man...

Paid $1300 for mine from this pawn shop on Ebay. Excellent condition, hardly broken in and it came with 272mb Ram, 60gb HD, and the CDRW.
All in all it was a great deal!!!

I've since replaced the hard drive with a 120gb made by Seagate. Now I'm looking to add the 8 analog output expansion board.

its a comment, chill. I mix and cut records for a livin, so I am opinionated about recording gear. beat gear, shit, do it with fruity loops for all I care. i worked with J Legend and a bunch of other cats and unfortunately from the recording and mixing side of music, it does matter
high end processor/mic pres are for after you write a song, that is given, but thanks for the joke. I am with you, I cant dig on people that tink you need this and that to do something. cause thats bullshit, but if you come accross a 1073 or a remake for cheap it can livien your tracks when they are ready to be cut more thank most peoples think. That said i havent found one for cheap and resort to using the ones at the studios i work in or manage.

Damn 1200, thats cheap. they are actually a little more scarce than they used to be and now that the OS is up a running 95% so they are in more demand. 1200 would be nice, but couldnt find it.

I got mine for $1800 off of Ebay....good condition, 272MB, 80GB HD, and 52x burner. The catch with mine was that I got a hard drive FULL of NICE groups already ready to go.....wurlitzers, Rhodes, Moogs, you name it, already keygrouped out tha BOX!

Hmmm, were those hollowsun kits? Or other stuff? I they werent hollowsun kits, share the wealth .
