By the way, now that Win XP is "end of life", bits of it will start disappearing from Microsoft's download repository. The time will come soon where not even having a Win XP DVD-ROM will be enough to get you going (because you'll no longer be able to download all the updates for it).

I would suggest you make yourself a Virtual Box winXP now, and make a snapshot of the VXi and put it somewhere safe, in case you need to rebuild your Win8 machine and remake the WinXP virtual machine too,

of course, none of this would be necessary if Akai would just provide updated fcking USB drivers! ARRRRGH

i have a similar problem but with S6k. i run windows 8.1 on parallels on mac osx.
Aksys opens but i don't see my sampler - just a 2 demo files.

i have a 2 driver files akS56USB.ini and akS56USB.sys - should i put them in somewhere?
