Upgraded from 2500 to 4000 and never want to back already.

I switched from a 2500 to a 4000 earlier this year and love it. I had the 2500 with jj os on it so I never used it in stock form. As someone else pointed out earlier chopping took some getting used to. I got one maxed out and the effects and filters on that thing are top notch. It really makes you want to be more creative with the sound. No regrets on making the switch though.

So, the keygroup option. Can somebody tell me something about it? I'm feeling I'm missing a lot..?

You are missing a lot if you don't use them. There's some good info around the forum but you need to search it out.

In essence, Keygroups allow you to map and layer sounds across the span of a keyboard. Obviously they work well for keyboard instruments like synths, pianos and organs. If you were feeling very brave and had some time to kill you could add a sample per key times the 4 Zones. In practice I would use a minimum of 1 sample per octave though.

A good starting point is the free 4K sound pack if you can find it. For something with more of a synth bias you can't go wrong with the Giorgio Moroder uber synth library, or the "AMAZING" SP Neptune.

Lol, I will get in to it. Never used it. I'll try to play wth some synths into the 4k, starting with the pulse.
