No, there ain't no such thing as having to 'scan' the drive at all. It's regular FAT32, same as your PC. Logically you should be able to list the contents of the drive on the fly regardless of its size.

Oh, I thought that maybe when it was saying "Searching Disks" during the bootup, it was looking on the hard drive as well as in the CD drive.
