How can i install this on my MPC?
Can i do it with a zip disk?

Well, it means you can use the slider to move the start/loop/etc. cursor to the right and to the left in sample edit.

In one of the sample edit windows move the left slider completely down to the bottom. Push the active button, then move the slider upwards to move the cursor further to the right. Release the active button and move the slider back to the bottom. You don't move the cursor with the active button released. Once you're down push the active button again to move the cursor further with the slider and so on. It also works the other way around.

So you can scroll the cursor through the sample with the slider. Works pretty good!

I'm actually rather pleased about the contents of this OS release:

it contains two MAJOR bug fixes that I and many others have been bleating on about for THREE YEARS:
-- fix that damn Ak.Sys USB link which always drops out on large files (well, with certain USB host controllers....)
-- speed up Multi changes (which were UNUSABLY slow, taking about a second previously - meaning you could not change a multi live in the middle of a track)

Also the non-volatile MIDI settings are a nice touch that I'd been pushing for for some time..... will save me a lot of tedious going in and turning off aftertouch in the filter etc etc, and retpying those damn device names!

oh ok. Thats great! But why isnt the update on tha official akai-pro webpage?

AFAIK, all OS updates first appear on the Japane site, and after a couple of days appear on the international site. They have to translate the PDF. And maybe there are other reasons, dunno.

Well I've been using the new OS since last night and it's working fine to me. Although I would like to get those release notes in English.

I need a quantizer wich quatize with percents. For example, a just played a drumpart, I want it to quantize at 10% to the grid or 50 percent etc. Like Propellehead Reason.
Are there plans at Akai/ Numark to implement this feature. I think all decent sequencers should have this option!

Funny thing is: I bought an mpc for this as I first thought Reason didnt had this feature. But akai only has swing option wich i barely use ( i thought swing was this but it aint )

what do you mean 10% to the grid of 50% .. I don't quite understand, and imo your missing out by not using the MPC swing at all, I mean look at how much emphasis akai is putting on this window now we even have direct access to that window anytime via: open-window + timing-corrcet, once you start using it you'll be calling it up all the time to swing/shift your grove, it really is strong-point in the MPC line

also I dig the fact that I don't have to do the akward shift+playstart to play from a seq looppoint anymore, just playstart (user definable in misc in 1.7).. small UI enhancements that make a big diffirance ,..

I mean the MPC should let us quantize with a range of 10 to 100 percent. 10% beeing some quantize, 90 percent is allmost all on grid. (1/16, 1/32 etc.. )

Hmm.. All I know is that If I take a 1/8 TC and put it 75% it makes it so what I input
is at 1/4. So they use a different percentage algorhythm then Reason does.

nono.. thats not what i mean.. no swing.. just "some" quatizing instead of BANG -to-the-grid.

Timing correct > shift notes ... ?

Thanks! Yeah it works like a charm. This will defitinely help with fine tuning loops and chops.
