These are the steps i took:
1) load the snare and drum from zip (i cant really remember where i got the snare from though)
2) apply snare and drum to pads. by pressing the WINDOW button in samples list.
3) and create sequence in SEQ EDIT
Did u LOOP and play the sequence?
y is your process so long? is that the standerd way of production on the mpc?
I dont really load samples by the program file they offer, but ill try your way of doing things.
I luv my mpc man, i just hope its somthing IAM doing wrong.
Hi,
The steps I provided aren't really that long, more like detailed.
I could have just said this:
"turn up the FX send for the part",
but I thought that might be confusing to a new user. So I thought that
I would provide step by step details, so their would be no confusion
as to what was being done. I provided an "example" program that one
could use. You don't have to use that. It was mainly to make easier
for a new user to have a full set of steps, from start to finish, with
a known good program that doesn't have ANY issues (in case it was
a user problem), so we could properly troubleshoot what is happening.
I also started off asking how you were doing this? Is it via realtime
or via QFX. If I had known you were doing it via QFX , then we could
have solved this probably much quicker.
The steps that I provided, are the standard steps for adding FX to an entire part in real time. They are NOT the only way to apply FX.
The MPC is a deep machine. There are many ways sometimes to get
to the same end. Different methods for different producers, which is
one of the reasons why I like this machine. Try a different way and sometimes you can get interesting results.
The steps that are I provided, show how the MPC is setup like a
standard Mixing Board. Where in the "Mixer" page, you have the ability
to apply 1 or 2 FX per part, in realtime. This works on top of the other
methods for applying effects. It's can give you completely different
results then applying QFX individually to each sample, as it FX,
entire parts at once.
On top of the method that I provided, which provides adding an FX
to an entire parts, one also has a couple of other useful ways
to apply FX.
A)
QFX - the method that you have indicated, which apply's an FX directly
to a Sample. This a great method. Even greater, when combined
with the other two methods. You already know this, so won't go into it.
B)
Not only does one have the ability to apply the Realtime FX processor's
to an entire part, but one also has the ability via the Pad mixer, to apply
any of the 4 FX to any of the different drum sounds indivudually in Drum sPrograms, as well as the same ability to do this to Keygroups and Drum
in the Program itself.

Also looks like Phunk has been able to figure out that you have 2 ways
to fix the issue that you were seeing, which was to either turn the sample to one shot, or to keep your note pressed for the duration of the sample.
So that should help you move on. Enjoy your MPC....
