Again I ask how do you layer samples with the MPC4k

This is the best advice you can get to learn your gear. Don`t take it the wrong way it isn`t the gear that is difficult it how much you have learned and how experienced you are. Read I mean really read and you will be happy. After that it becomes simplier and you will look back on your old threads and laugh months from now.

FINALLY jumped into my 4k, both feet, not afraid to swim, dog paddling right now but I understand the concept of the oplympic breaststroke.

Ref and regular manual open on pc screen, working it out, "getting it in" "handling my bidness" "popping that cherry"

I caught on to this in just a few minutes, made a practice beat and start messing with every page I could find and
hitting open window in everything, ran across the zone and that was that, it was there, aksys can do it as well (Yeah I'm
a decade late ).

But I don't see why this couldn't be figured out easily.

The 1 thing that tripped me up that Bruce via phonecon straightened me out on was the effects section.
I never had to deal with 24bit hardware so I didn't know that 24bit mode will only give you 2 busses on the effects card.
He told me 16bit mode will enable me to use all 4 busses. I missed that one in the manual but I'm still a young grasshopper
though so in due time I'll earn my street cred.

All together not even 24 full hours on the 4k and I've got many basic menus memorized.
