It's quite an easy program; and works like a charm. I've not figured out if (and how) it would do automatic program changes as well (so that you can have it sample a whole range of programs); as it is now you have to set those up by hand.

The results are very good (the looping tool is okay too most of the time) Unfortunately it doesn't do Akai...you can convert SF2 or whatever format you have to Akai though...I did that with the free version of extreme and used that as a template for most of the programs I made with Sample Robot.

I think that esc may be the way for me, I like the program plus they've added automatic sampling to it

Oh and for those who want a description of my files:

Funky Rozz - Sounds a bit like a distorted piano or a techno stab.
Harp Magic - An angelic stereo harp with samples from the Tx81z and the D50.
Harp Magic - A sweet harp, straight from the Tx81z (use a little stereo delay)
Lately Bass - A classic sound (two layered)
Lately Filtr - Roughly the same base with some LPF on it.
Rave Rozz - A classic sound for piano chord like stabs.
Scream Rozz - A spooky, noisy, organ. Or something like that.
Stabby Rozz - A good organ like sound that's good for stabs too.

Downloading. I will tell you if any of the sounds work out.

^^ yeah, finally got a chance to try them last night, the programming on them is pretty nice, good looping used and the samples are "clean" as in no undesired artifacts, of course some of the sounds themselves are anything but nice and clean...

Thanks for trying them out and thanks the feedback. These are some pretty 'raw' and 'rough' samples indeed. (If you've ever heard a RozzBox where I took a lot of the sample fodder from you'd understand why! If the samples fit your taste and style of music, I'd be interested to hear some of it!

Most of the looping was done automatically by sample robot.

This week I made some African percussion (Ghana Bells), a Santura, a tabla and some other stuff (mostly in the ethnic)...these are all from samples I downloaded from freesounds (so they are not mind). I trimmed them and cleaned them up a bit and made programs with them. I'm still tweaking those a bit and I might post some of it later this week. Maybe I'll make some nice pads and a rounded bass or two.

I also have some other packs with a more 'old skool' approach to sampling: short and tightly looped samples without a lot of multisampling.

Any special requests?

cool, I like ethnic, I don't really have any request, just whatever you can come up with and feel like sharing, I'm really interested in sample robot, it gives good results.

thanks alot for this. I am still awaiting an osx version of translator with to s5000 format. So this is really handy.
I had the same problems on my mac trying to send various files there is a character within some of them that the mpc won't accept, I believe this is due to whatever the type of format the hard drive was formated with on the mpc.

Here's a program a made tonight, after work. My wife and our 5 month old son Caspar are sleeping in the other room and I was 'banging' out this track with the program I made. I didn't want to wake them up (obviously) so I had to think creatively.

What I did is I downloaded some samples from the web which were really grainy and long and had all sorts of hiss, pops and crap in them. I tried cleaning them up, but that just didn't work out really well. So what I did is I chopped off the tail and only used the short attack portion of the sound (the old Roland D50 trick, when sampling memory was really expansive)...

To make the 'body' of the sound I also sampled a softened square wave with a little oscillator sync from my Novation Nova: this will sound sweet and metallic at the same time. I made 1 second samples of those and looped them (I think I could make them really, really, really short if I wanted too)...The file is now about 900kbytes but I think if I worked really economically I could do it in like 100kb or even less. (< hey! idea for a competition?)

I took like 4 or 5 different attack samples that each sounded a little different (this is also the way these soundbox' sound, they always sound a little toy like) and spread those on top of the looped multisample from the NOVA.

I added a filter with a lot of resonance (I think it was two peak filter or something) for that metallic 'twang'. The filter is modulated by velocity and by keytrack. When you play the mod wheel a sweet amount of vibrato kicks in (modulation of the pitch)....
