This is life I guess....
Its not a bad idea to have an older Windows system in your studio to connect older samplers and synths to.. To run older software on...... Etcetera.....

Apart from transferring big folders to and from the Mac I dont have any problems. in fact, transferring data seems to go faster over the Mac USB port :? This could be an illusion though.... If I want to backup or transfer big folders I just plugin the MPC to the PC running old trusty Windows.
I was really amazed Aksys just worked in OSX on Intel! I am very happy. You should be too. Because it was coded for Power PC ! (Apple G3, G4 & G5)

You mean, it "just works" except that it routinely trashes the folders that are being backed up, and usually hangs or crashes in the process.

I'm thrilled that Apple provided a PowerPC emulator for the Mac. It works really well; I wish that ak.sys worked as well.

also, is there a way to backup 4000's usb drive without going through aksys (too slow)? there's way too much data to store on cd/dvd...
