Look smarty pants, I spent about £4grand on this machine by the time I'd got all the RAM, add-on boards, flight case, CD drive, etc etc.
If I sold it now I'd get about one grand!
It is still probably the most solid standalone sequencer and sampler going.
So I am keeping the damn thing!
It's just annoying when you power-use a feature and you can so obviously see with each one "well if they just did this and this and fixed that etc etc" then it would all be that little bit better.
About 80% or more of the worst bugs that were present in 2002 did get fixed in the end, but it's still short of what it might have been and leaves a sour taste in the mouth -
especially when one sees Akai's current kiddie-toy MPCs coming out instead.
If anyone wants a new killer drum machine this year or 2009,
check out Dave Smith/Roger Linn's forthcoming machine. It's gonna be the one....
