Speaking of which that was a great video to watch...they look so happy making the music. I have that 45 record, it has always been one of my favorite songs.
At some point in the Fall maybe all of us Washington DC, VA and MD MPC heads should meet up. I can see it now...we rent out a venue, and take turns rocking the spot with our music, $5 cover (we all share) and let the bar make their own profit. What you say?

Sho nuff for the gathering! That sounds like some biz that needs to be in the making as of yesterday. I have a friend who would love to help make this happen. She's very cool and looks forward to events such as this.

The sista I live with carries too much drama for me to consider her as a candidate.

But seriously, lets put our heads together and find a place where we can do this.

Getting the venue is easy it's getting the people to show up for the performance that is the tricky part. Getting people to show needs marketing, and marketing takes $$. I am down if you are down. There are many good mpc producers on the forum and in the area not on the forum.
We would need to make it equitable by actually pooling our resources and getting the marketing together. Keep it simple each person gets 15 -20 minutes to rock the party....sink or swim style like back in the old days if the crowd likes your music you keep going, if not you get the sandman. It could be a once a month event.
Need to plan...are we going for volume(big venue, less personal, less door cost, university crowd) or quality (smaller venue, nicer place, deeper pocket guests, exclusive)
We need reliable performers...people who will show up on time, and dedicated to their craft. Develop a format...is it a party, or a concert, or a hybrid of the two?
Let's corral some folks and see what we have to offer the World.
