If you read the whole book in depth you will be able to understand the 4k manual like the back of your hand. Everything will start to make sense.
But the book will not put together a beat for you that is something different like "The Complete Guide to Remixing by Erik Hawkins or something."
If you want to know a full sampler`s potential get the book.
If you are mainly into phrase sampling or using keyboards you don`t need it. Myself I want to use every feature and get 110% out of the 4k`s Z8 sampler cuz I want to create my own sounds.
But it simplified the reference and user manual of the 4k for me and I understand the functions more.
Remember whether you had a S950, S5000, or Emu full sampler they are the cousins of synths.
Good shot. After reading the 4k manual the z8 manual is easily digested by scaning and looking at the pics. Layers (zones) and spans (kegroups)! Creating music through the idea of controlled accidents by limiting perameters using zones is tantilizing. Ima set up a program where the zones are specific to note length for several breaks and assign to my outs. This will def condense my work space. Practical shioat. To bad you cant assign zones the their own parts.
