This is clearly a bugfix release, not a major update that introduces really new features. That explains why only the minor version number was bumped.

I just made a test to compare the loading speeds between OS v1.70 and 1.71 and there does not seem to be any difference
it took the exact same time (230 seconds) to load the same 240 MB multisampled piano files
