Man, didn't you guys read the first post? The entire concept was based off of short cyclic samples. Also, under "limitations", I mentioned how you cannot effect the loop points, only the start point. That means you can effectively only change the loop points while in that screen... unless that is another sysex possibility.

Using zones and keygroups you could build up a bunch of wavetables that are modulated by velocity just like you would make a 16 sample snare pad.

Have to agree with you Feline, it always is going to be better on an analog synth. I guess its more emulating a VA, but it is a good project since you can apply these methods towards any sample, not just waveshapes. And you can assign the knobs to quite a few of the functions.

True enough (even though the CZ101 is pretty easy to program once you figure it out)...nothing beats tweaking the little knobs on my humble bass station KB. ;)

Of course a lot of strictly digital synths have a lot of knobs for programming, shaping and controlling sounds (not just VA's, a lot of romplers have them too)
