well, good luck!
One thing with translation companies:
they tend to store client's text in a database, so that they can do consistent automatic translation by machine. It's rarely done completely manually.
The author of the MPC4000 Reference Manual is listed in the PDF metadata as:
アカイプロフェッショナルエムアイ(株)
I read no Japanese at all, but I presume those characters are someone's name?

Babelfish say アカイプロフェッショナルエムアイ (Inc.)
So it's a company
Google, he say search - first link = http://www.pro-audio.jp/ - which makes sense...
Googles translation of the second link says アカイプロフェッショナルエムアイ = AKAIPUROFESSHONARUEMUAI

Maybe cuz they were all fired just like the Japanese staff were.
Sorry I dont understand what you mean. But either way, theres independent coders in the uk that has the source for the OS, they were the last ones working on them. Sean W. has their contacts. So its fully possible to get in contact with them as long as Akai would agree. But they're dead silent on the matter. Thats what stopped us when trying to do that "wanna pay for OS update" thingy.

Well......that was my last Akai Product.....I started buyung Akai with the mpc 60 In 88/ 89 I guess........I've owned at least 6 various pieces from Akai over the years.....I simply refuse to support a company who doesn't take care of it's customers. I vote with my wallet........Watch Akai GOB due to poor customer relations...The failure to understand who actually pays the bills puts businesses under more than most any other reason, yet folks still don't get it......

yeah NumarkAkai just don't get it -
they seem to think the old Akai went bankrupt due to "changing market forces" or sthg.
Don't they realise how much Akai had pissed off their customer base with unfinished OSes and poor customer support over those years?

An updated 4k manual, with all the adendums integrated and even added a buglist would help a lot yes. At least people with short memory problems like me...
Seriously, yes I think it helps to tame the deep machine.

They may have pissed off people here (the loud minority of MPC users)...everyone else is busy making music even with the unfinished OSes...

Some of us have time to make music and let companies who have let us down know........foe every customer who complains, smart companies realize there are 10 more who didn't bother to btich.....they just take thier business elsewhere..........
