There was some discussion in the past on how earlier versions of the 4k were configured. I mentioned they use to come as Studio A & D. And I think there was a B & C as well.
I found this link to be somewhat helpful in clarifying this...MPC4000 Studio "A" (8 out board installed)
Not to mention I'm working with a Studio "D" (adat & spdif/wordclock boards installed), so please feel free to comment if you like.
Oh, and beware of the LE version...for those that don't know.
