What are you trying to do, trigger the triton from the mpc OR sample sounds into the mpc?

I just wanna be able to use the keyboard for midi so I can do my basslines that's it a regular midi setup... like I said I know what I'm doing on the xl but I'm lost on the 4000

What's confusing is, you want to control the mpc. But earlier you stated you can't get any sound from your triton. Do you want to sync both the mpc & triton togther? Maybe have your drums play from the mpc & keys/bass from the triton or both?

Now if you haven't loaded any program sounds into the mpc, of course you won't hear anything. On your mpc, if you hit load, the display will show you at the top (disk) if you're loading from the HD, CD-Writer or a Flash Drive/External HD (inserted in the front usb port). If you're looking at MPC4K HD at the top of the display, its contents will show you and allow you to scroll to any paticular sound, sequence, or program and load it.

I think as the default, Program (the keys looking icon) is what you want to load since it loads all sounds & samples associated with that program. If you can then play sounds from the pads once you've done that, then you're good to go. The rest is gravy.

On the 4k you need to assign sounds to both a keygroup and program before you get the results you're looking for.

That just sounds wrong to my ears.
