8 analog outputs card

hy everybody,
i got an mpc 4000 and i've just mount in it the 8 analog outpus card connetting the ribbon cale in the right sslot, but the system doesn't recocgnaise the card.in the global page result as UNINSTALLED.
Can anybody help me? do i 've to upgrade the internal software ? and, if somebody has done this operation could please explain me how he did?

you might not have the cable seated all the way or in backwards
and just for the record you did turn it off before you installed the card right?
