Creating a beat live with a vocalist?

Just wondering how much input each producer gets from their vocalist , rapper, guest artist when they are making up a beat live? And how much tailoring to the beat you do to fit the vocalist`s taste without compromising your feel? Just wondering?

I get up to get down.

i usually work out most of the beat before hand. Then, when it is time to record. We will strip the track to just basic rhythms. The mc will lace the track that is synced up to my daw.
After we get the vocals right, then we start bringing in the differnt sounds, and melodies, wherever they are appropriate.
Just A new style I have been working on.

I have never reealy worked with anyone in that manner. but it would all depend on if im getting paid or if im paying out. if im getting paid or if its someone who is deeper in the industry than I am then well.....you wish is my command. but if this is my shit and im putting it to gather than well its my way or bounce. but I will always be open to new concepts and ideas

well, im my own mc (for now) and I make the beat first. Then i write my stuff, then i go back and make variations on the beat (around parts of my voice), then i put in song mode.
