Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

does anyone know of a piece of software for PC running XP that can create a PROGRAM from samples so I can just drag it to the 4K via Aksys :?:

the only ones i've seen have been Mac.

i have it for the pc version.....it make 2000xl programs which you know will still load on the mpc 4000...

thats what i was think why is everybody using program makers when akai sys has a program maker..........learn your machine

but thats a basic manual situation.... u got the machine now study the bible and u will acheive understanding :P man im just kidding but i notice alot of people are short changing there self by not reading the manual..i just believe if your gonna spend 2500 u shou;d atleast read the manual then come here to learn the tricks...but i guess im the only one that feels that way

nah > i just hate the asinine. sorry to jump out like that, but you cut me a little.

i'm asking cause i've got a 486 laptop, no USB and shit for an HD that i want to load up some samples and work at a friend's house while he spins.

Aksys isn't helping out in that regard.

sides> the akai manual reads ALLRIGHT but nowhere as cohesive as some other manufacturer's gear i'm using. i'm new to akai, so all of these "old hat" glance overs in the manual aren't really that for me.

AND finally (i would have stowed the quip if you asked these questions) > i've had a few problems with spyware causing my XP system to crash so it's scared the lights out of me hooking up my baby to something i might corrupt my data with > thus the old crappy laptop.

i see your point > i'm just a different soul in that regard. man, can't ask enough questions. i hope you feel that way too cause it might come back around one day and "read the manual" isnt' really the answer you'd be looking for too ;)
