Its in both the Time Compression/Expander and the Pitch Shift

I looked through the Ref manual and it says

"Makes fine adjustments to the preset algorithm in the range of -50 to +50"

I find that kinda vague, anyone else know what that means exactly?

hey ice.
im not sure ':?'but i think it refers to how the algorithm processes the waveform,

eg . -50 more suited to rythmic samples
+50 more suited to retaining maxium sound quailty (im not sure if thats the right way round)

what ya all think? i havent really played about with that parameter to much yet though, just about to test it out....................................

It is very vague and very cryptic -

I remeber reading in a SOS review of the machine ..the reviewer was puzzled by the feature...the reviewer said something like"it's a hit or miss when applying it to samples ..and sometthing you just have to play around with to find what works"

Reveal is right in the concept though...I believe -

good concept atleast Im not in the dark now

Im going to play around with it some and see if I can make some sense of it, if any of you discover anything make sure you post it, its really irratating me that I dont know exactly what it does, everytime I go to the page its like it just STANDS out :(

sup,
i cannot hear a difference between a sample when procsessing them at +50 or -50, but when looking at the waveforms the of the samples, by having them right next next to each other in the sample trim page and scrolling between them u could see the one processed at +50 had more of a peaky waveform ,and the -50 seamed to have chunkier sustain to the wave form with less peaks............

what did u find/hear in ur tests with this feature? notice any difference?

I've noticed the same thing Reveal, Im going to try with different types of samples and see with I get

Short/Long
Percussive/Sustaining
Just large ass loops right from songs, something should reveal(no pun intended) it, if it isnt as simple as you originally stated
