I dont know bout the 4000, but on the 2kxl you cant. I think you have to multitrack it or record it on to a cd or computer and play it back for dude to hear. Or get a metronome and have him play his part to the bpm of the beat. I got free ones over at

I seen the videos of the MV-8000 on the Roland site!
They had a guitar player come in and play while the sequencer was goin that was tight!
