Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Is there a way to change the mixer levels via an external midi device? I was messing around with the mixer levels last night and was trying to get the mixer track levels on the MPC to change based off of the input I gave from my motif. Is this possible, or do I need to do it directly on the MPC?

Thanks,
JL

A basic midi for level is 7 I forgot or 10 but you would
doing it my way set it by track since each part is assigned
to a midi channel.

By the mixer page no. But you can by multi page, qlink setup,
or program page.

All of this is in a basic midi guide under control changes.

Example motif knob assign to channel #1 cc#7 to outA.

Midi cable comes to 4k INT:A.

Now you go to main page of 4k.

Look at track you see INT:A: out:1:part:program 1.

and go.

I have been able to change the level by making sure that the track selected on the motif is the same track that is selected on the MPC. So from what you are saying is that I can only change the level by multi page, qlink or program? I can't change it from the mixer page, right?

Yup the mixer page is for qlink settings. If you want to use your motif controllers use the other pages. Good luck and read up on Midi.
