how do YOU use AkSys?

I just scooped a S5000 reeeal cheap and it has the USB card, making it AsSys compatible...so I did some reading and it looks like Recycle is compatible with AkSys..up until now I've been computer free until tracking time, so I was wondering if yall used Recycle with AkSys, what kind of audio editors you used, and just work flow in general

at the very least I'll use it to save all my files, of sell it if I don't like the workflow...

I use recycle as well also DSP Quattro X.

Congrats on the s5k I have its brother the s6k great samplers!

I just use it for swapping/backing up data. So far, I don't prepare my programs with it or load any samples into an additional sample editor. I mostly work entirely on the 4k.

Data swapping, I've build programs with it before to, easy especially for drum programs that I want laid out a specific way.

I will admit, it does run a lot better on a mac, I have both and have it loaded on both just to test.

mac is more stable using the program.

but it looks a little different lol.

i just use it to transfer samples, thats about it.. and yeah it often loses the connection.. especially when doing bigger transfers.. ARGH!

the Ak.Sys USB driver totally FAILS.

I'd like to chop my own samples on the computer and use ak.sys to export these samples onto the MPC but I can't because ak.sys isnt compatible with Windows Vista x64. It's a real ****... a REAL ****.

From what I understand mac os x runs aksys much better then windows. any truth to that? thanks you.

Mac's run less sh!t at one time than windows, so that makes them more reliable. If only AkSys was Ginux-linux compatible. If only Gunix was dual core compatible. If I only had a mac.......oh well yes its true, but mac's are a b!tch and a half if ur a microsoft nerd like me. I dont like em, oo easy to delete things. But they run ANY software alot smoother.

I don't see there's any point blaming the Microsoft operating system:

the blame is just with Akai's CRAP driver,
which was obviously never tested properly.

The microsoft OS is full of background prog's that eat up cache like a semen starved whore. I lose firewire connections on vista dude, and that aint supposed to happen
