Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS MAKING A SAMPLE LIKE A PIANO SOUND PLAY IN ALL THE PADS LIKE A KEYBOAD ALL OCTAVES IS MULTI THE FEATURE FOR THIS IF SO HOW DOES IT WORK..... WHEN I DO IT I GET NOTHING AUTO CHROMATC ASSIGNMENT DID IT ON THE MPC 2000XL SO I HOPE MUTI DOES IT ON THE 4000[/color]

16 levels doesn't work on the 4000 yet[/color]

Your right, it doesn't work like it did on the 2000, or hopefully, like it will on the 4000, but there is a way to get it to happen!

1. create a new program as a keygroup (not Drum)
2. select that program for the 'part' you want
3. in program mode, hit the KG mix softkey (F2)
4. assign a sample to any keygroup
5. hit the pitch softkey (F3)
6. for your sample, make the Low span 0, and High span 127
7. change the Pitch (zone 1) from const to track

Its not quite as fast, but it does the same thing.  Peace.
