I'm planning to kill the rattling noise the MPC4000 makes if playing the pads.
To some extend, the rattling seems to be due to vibration of all the many knobs,
but the most occurs due to poor contact of the front metal casing with the chassis.
You can carry out this test by simply pushing down the case on several locations
while playing the pads. Spontaneously, the MPC feels much more solid. (That's how
the the human factor is involved in built quality. AKAI let's you be part of the process!)
Before I start some modifications, has anybody else tried to optimize this behaviour?
Some thin elastic material between chassis and the case might help. I suppose there is
no simple and reliable solution to decrease the clearance between the plastic knobs
and the tact switches.
