Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I am trying to do something simple, but I haven't been able to do it and would greatly appreciate someone's help.
I can get the program (patch) to change-- that works, but not change banks. I go to the page on the MPC4000 which turns on the bank change and insert MSB and LSB, bit nothing happens on the modules regarding bank changes. I enabled the modules (Korg TR-Rack and Roland XV-5080) to accept program and bank changes, still nothing.

So if I want to change say from bank 1 to 2, in a theoretical case, what do I need to do?

Thanks

You would need to check your manual of what ever synth you are trying to change, to see what MSB/LSB settings
they are requesting or you can try setting MSB and LSB to different settings until you see it work. It works fine for my
Evolver and Q...

If the program change is working, it sounds like you have the midi set up properly. Do you know if you are sending the correct values for MSB/LSB? For example, you need to use MSB: 87, LSB: 00 for the first bank of user patches with Roland. Try that, it works with my 4k -> xv5050. It should be in your manual, but this document has a bunch of info on Roland bank change values:
