Probably a long shot, but does anyone have a MPC1k .pgm editor? I'm dowloading the free kits on Akai's website and haven't found an efficient way to get the samples onto the 4k's pads. At least I just wanna read what is on what pad so I can accurately program them. It's a better way to do it myself, but it's buggin'.

I'd like to know too! Especially if there is a converter that will switch 1000 files over to 4000 files.

It would be nice to be able to transfer to/from the MPC1000 and the MPC4000. Got both and would be nice to have the flexibility.

sup ,got this elsewere,

Quote:

The current specification is as follows:

MPC1000 and MPC4000
* Samples are .WAV files
* Sequences are Midifiles (SMF)
Therefore, those items can be exchanged between both units.

However, Programs are very different.
The MPC1000 can read Pad/Sample assignments from MPC4000 Drum Programs, but the MPC4000 can't read MPC1000 Programs.

Also, the MPC1000 does not have MULTIs.

To transfer Samples and Sequences between the MPC4000 and the MPC1000, there are several options:

* Connect both MPCs to a computer via USB and use akSys to drag&drop files from the MPC4000 to the MPC1000's Flash Card

* Connect a Flash Card reader/writer to the USB port in front of the MPC4000 and swap Flash Cards

* Connect the MPC1000 USB directly to the USB port in front of the MPC4000. The MPC4000 will see the Flash Card of the MPC1000 as a drive (when then MPC1000 is in USB mode)
