A session with the 4000

Im just curious on how long is the average session when making some dope tracks with the mpc 4000....Who has had the longest session in a night with the mpc in there home studio?......

That ish varies wildly! I don't know if there is an average session length. If there was I would say maybe an hour or two. I don't know! It depends on too many factors: skill level of the operator, how much you gotta tweak, whether you run into any roadblocks or not, etc. Sometimes you can come up with some tight shit in a matter of minutes. Sometimes it may take days or even longer.

in my lab, i use a 2kxl, it takes me bout 8-10 hours or at least a couple of days to finish a beat

Wow!!! 8 to 10 hours in a session.... Thats what im talkin about! So the mpc is designed to work double overtime huh! The reason I m asking is because I think Im not being hard enough on my 4000, I would use it for about 2 hours at the most but hey if it can run for 10 hours then I need to get busy then..............

Im working on something now and i havent turned my 4k off in three days not a glitch and still cool running

After 3 days no sleep, you start getting that 'sleep depravation' vibe, sqiggly line all over the shop. This can be a good time for creativity if you can hold it together!

I keep my 4000 on for weeks at a time. no problems.
