Mpc 4000 chop shop

Does the 4000 have a chop shop feature?

Nah...

You dont need no chop shop feature..

What I do when I work with samples that have drums etc in them I will loop two bars from the sample page, and have the mpc chop it from the region menu into 16 pieces.. and assign them to the pads - every pad is equal chops - the 3rd pad of each row will always be a snare and the first pad of each row will always be a kick...

So..

- Loop 2 bars
- Chop into 16 regions
- Assign chops to pads(in order obviously..)

And voila... almost as if you used chop shop right?

Same thing can be done for 4 bars.. loop 4 bars > chop into 32 regions.. assign.. and boom..

Dont let the gimmicks fool you.

Thanks man I was going back and forth between a 2500 and a 4k I ended up getting the 4k.hope it gets here soon dying to get my hands on it

I´m a fan of the free-runing chop points .. forces me to roll my own ... but if needed and it can save alot of time,.. assign recycle as youre audio editor in akasys..

It will work with recycle?

well ...its not 100% intergrated..

but it will export akai prg´s and midi files..

if you have the recyceled saved folder open at the same time as akasys, you can simply drag and drop samples, programs and midi fiels into the 4k´s memory right after you hit export.. its very quick
