Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Whats happenin,..Today I put a new band on my turntable and tried to to sample on the 4k..only to hear a bunch of feed back...So i checked all my settings, unplugged evthang and still had it......anybody ever ran across this problem?Since akai custo service isn't open on weekends I opened her up..ev'thang checked out (supposedly)...only to find out now my screen won't come on....~Gud look,thankz in advanced

First, the ribbon cable may have come disconnected when you opened the unit up. It is the flat white ribbon cable.

Second, did you have the MPC selected to phono or line in on the back of the MPC?

Yea I just figured that out, preciate it. And i just tested tha record phono on my stereo system so it's deffinately the 4000's inputs...I recently took it to an associates house and plugged in 2 rca cables to hook it up 2 his old system...could this possibly be it..All I can get is loud feedback/static...depending om the rec gain setting...no signals are being read..starting to think theres something broke in there
