yo this might sound like a dumb ass question fo sho...but here it goes anyways.

What is the idea behind the "DEFAULT" assignment for the pads? If you press the pad assign button you switch between "DEFAULT" and "CHROMATIC". I understand "CHROMATIC" but what about "DEFAULT" what order are the pads in? Is this an MPC legacy thing? In "DEFAULT" mode I see all the notes arranged on the pads in seemingly a random order.

default is standard drum program order for mpc.....

that's what I kind of figured.....so the only reason you would want this is to be compatible with old kits already made on an MPC?

Many other non MPC programmed drum kits I've used actually play better with a chromatic pad assignment because thats's how they were intended to be used.
