Unwanted phasing effect.

Hello. So I've been layering my sample, which means I copied the track and the program and made an exact copy of it. I lowered volume down and compressed it. My goal was to make it louder and clear. After I passed it through BP filter it lost some power so to prevent this I layered it. Now I get randomly phasing effect and I don't want this. Everything is nice only this thing **** up.

layering the same sound on top of it wont work well. Just normalize the sample or resample it louder.

Or try layering it in the PAD ASSIGN,not copyin' the track.Even if you layer a pad with the same 4 samples,won't make the phasing effect,it will just add gain.

layer with the sampler, and not with the sequencer.


the sampler is "sample accurate"

To be honest I don't know how to layer with sampler so guys pls shed some more light. I guess it has to do something with MIDI routing. Drum pad destination to sampler? hm...

Anyway I intended not to only add more volume to the sample, but also make it more clear and powerful in the meaning how it sounds not just louder. I was reading in the book about drum layering by this method (track copy and program) and I must say it works well. It was told that phasing effect could come and then you would just tune the drum sample, but in the normal sample tuning it and layering will just cause garbage. Also this is similiar to New York compression.

go to program and add within the same zone on that pad u can layer up to 4 sounds that way
