creating & assigning samples to pads-is there an easier way

is there an easier way to create a Program and assign the samples to pads automatically?

I was loading all the samples... say snares... than going to Prgram assign and manually going through each sample and assigning it one by one using the dial... it's tedious and lets say you have 100 snr... 100 hats ... 100 kicks... etc etc... this could take all day....

is there a way to just assign a chunk of samples and just automatically have them assigned to pads in in order? I used to be able to do this with my yamaha a4k....

on the load page, you can select an option to load wav into a program.

you would have to create the program first.

I see how you can load 1 sample this way...
However if you have a folder of 65 snares lets say...
I cannot seem to Highlight or make active more than 1 sample at a time.
I figured holding shift and Scrolling down would allow me to Highlight all the samples....
Than i'd be able to load right to a program.... But i can only seem to highlight 1 sample at a time.

Basically I'm trying to get 65 samples to...
Batch them..
1. into a program together
2. Get them all to assign themselves to a pad...
In basically 1 shot.

Sorry if I missed something ... but I've gotta think a sampler of this quality is capable of this.
I mean ... it's a sampler ... it should be used to batch loading into a program and Batch assigning them pads.

It's Akai homie, what you are trying to do is impossible. I HOPE I'm wrong, but I'm not.

come on, if I can do 3-4 samples per second you can do it too.
at least you know where the samples are when you are finished.

you can try to use MPC editor Software and then load the pgm into the 4000

Use the pad editor in akSys. to assign your samples. You can also change the all samples to One-shot, in one of the menus. I don't recall at the moment where exactly.

it actually doesn't take too long since the 4k remembers the last sample you assigned to a pad, it's pretty quick to step through putting new samples on each pad.

but an "assign all to pads" would be dope too lol.

Well just remember the more samples u got the longer it takes to locate it PLUS mpc not always sort it alphabetically. Imo it's way better to load only sound you need in beat and remove the unused. PURGE is a function dedicated for this, which makes all this memory we got in MPC4K pretty useless.

I mostly use pad assign on the front and hit a pad and spin the wheel. Since my samples are numbered along with the name it is easy and fast to assign chopped samples to a program. Along less is more I already have different programs saved to disk so it is pretty easy to load what I need into the multi. These days I always start my mpc 4k with a clear stale on autoload. If I am doing sample chop I actually do it in my editor Bias Peak Pro (cause I go through the entire song and region out the parts I want, compress, eq, and effect it ) and transfer it via aksys to the 4k ready to go. If I`m working with drums then I compress and eq the drum loop in my editor and transfer it to my 4k to chop and it is auto assigned in a way in the 4k.

I once did battery drums I made a loop of hits according to my pad layout in logic or Peak bounce it down into a bar or two bar loop and sent the loop to the 4k set the regions and sliced into a program and it was done.
