MPC2000XL or MPC4000 Studio Plus

I'm switching from FruityLoops to the real thing with MPC...I've been lookin and I am willing to spend green on this but I want to know which MPC I should get...I'm really looking at the 4000 and the 2000...good lookin out cuz I've been thinking about this for a long time...

The 2000xl might be the better mpc for a beginner to hardware... the 4000 is a bit complicated but not to experienced mpc users. You can navigate your way around either one but the 4000 will take you alot more time. Don't rule the 1000 out either, it's a little beast.

Good lookin out, I'm thinkin bout gettin an ASR-10(if I can find one) to go with it. I'm really just tryin to get away from computers because they aren't very reliable sometimes, and plus you can get a better feel on hardware because of the real-time editing.

if u get the asr10 then get the 2kxl or 1k but u can get the 4k and a controller and wont need the asr cause the 4k does it all... and dont worry about the learn it....cause u have us....

If you can afford the MPC4000 then it is no question. To me it is the best MPC ever built and it is excellent, when it comes down to sound and sequencer quality.

Since I have the MPC4k my Digital Performer was degraded to a Stereo Edit Software, due to the quality of UAD and Waves Plug Ins. If the MPC(s) has a weak point, then in my opinion it is the EFX board. I do not care about 32, 48 or 64bits if they do not give any good sound... but again, if you have the money go to your music shop and compare the candidates.
