Loud "Plop" when shutting down the 4K

If I turn of the MPC, a loud "plop" noise comes from the monitors, although
the input faders of the mixer are all the way down.

This happens with both my MPC 4k models and seems to be independent
on the volume knobs of the 4k.

It also happens, if the MPC is directly connected to the active monitors.

Did anyone else recognise this? For such a "professional" piece of gear,
this is really annoying!

Maybe someone knows a technical workaround.

Maybe you have shitty cables?

if it is coming through the monitors when with your mixer faders all the way down,
it must be getting to the speakers via the ground (earth) path.

So something is not right in your studio's earthing.

This is the cause of the majority of electrical hums, buzzes and pops in studios, it has to be said.

I've got two Furman IT-20 II conditioners feeding my commercial location.

4 cheap little RP-8's at home

I don't have issues at home, but then again I've got brand new 100 amp service too.....

At my commercial location I had a bunch of earthing issues, and was even frame/rail grounding my racks to an isolated earth... and still had some intermittent noise, some of which was likely RF

Since I got the IT-20 II's, everything is nice and clean. No issues. Ever.

I think the IT's are discontinued now.... but they can be bought on Ebay I'm sure. Probably new and used.

Get a good conditioner.

Some of the Monsters are ok from what I hear, but I trust Furman.... What I've always depended on for power, and never been let down.

You won't regret it. I can pretty much guarantee your noise floor will drop, and all this interference and grounding crap will be gone.

And your equipment will like it

Not only if a good power conditioner needed but "ALWAYS ALWAYS TURN OFF MONITORS 1ST FIRST" any electronic device grounded or not will give off the stored energy as it's turned off {almost a pulse} which can damage your monitors.
