I MASTERED THIS MACHINE I KNOW IT'S THE SH** I LOVE IT AND EVERYTHING.
BUT STILL MISS THE SAMPLE START AUTOMATION OPTION
IT ADDS SO MUCH TO PRODUCTION AND IMPROVISATION
JUST WONDERING IF ITS POSSIBLE TO IMPLEMENT IT WITH A NEW OS
IF SO, I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW TO LET THE PPL @ AKAI CONSIDER DOING IT. ANY ONE OUT THERE FEELS THE SAME WAY. OR DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE SUBJECT.

LET A HUNGRY PRODUCER KNOW
PEACE

NO NEED TO SHOUT ,explain this in more depth i dont really see what ur saying? just keep at it and u should get quicker at flying around all the functions.........
if u push the window key while the cursor is on the sample start point number in the sample trim page ,you can set a threshold in Db and the start jumps to the threshold......and u can change zone start points with qlinks for some improvisation as u put it.... Etc.........is that what u mean?

sorry if my shouting heart ur ears, sh**. but thanks for the reply and no i dont mean the treshold. i mean automating the start point of a sample. lets say ur triggering a sample (3s long) with a pad and that plays the sample from the very start. what i would like to see is controlling the start point shifting it to the right  (from 0 to 0.125, 0.2,...all the way to 3s)with a knob like in q-link.
tnx in advance for any reply

Hook up the zone (1-4) start parameter of a specific note to a controller number in the modulation-matrix in program edit mode.

Than assign the controller to a qlink knob or slider in the qlink send window by changng Q-event to Controller and setting up the correct number.

Route a track to the part you want to automate the start time.

Now you can record the controller, assigned to the start parameter in the sampler section, to the track in the sequencer section using the qlink knob on the front panel, to automate the sample start parameter.

Afterwards you can re-assign the qlink to another controller or function without affecting the automation.

Best of luck.

yo bleepfreak, tried what u said but the zone start has such a limited range that it can be only used for short samples(less than 0.5s). what i want to do is cover the whole sample, meaning at least 3 to 5seconds long and have the sample start surf throughout. in other words instead of chopping up a sample into pieces and being stuck with them. i want to make my regions live with the knob while having the rest of the beat playing. not just the very start of the sample (u got attack for that(kind of)).
i hope this explains it better. and i hope there is a solution. its just that i cant find one.

peace
