MPC 4000 Reliability issues?

Ive read everywhere that the MPC4000 O.S is very unstable. and frequent spontanues crashes happnes.

Can any experiance MPC4000 user comment on this?

Im about to cop one either way, Just wondering

yeah, i also heard that akai hardly ever releases O.S updates. there was a drought of 8 months with out one?

Yep! VERY nice.. And for those who are still thinking of getting one.. Get one!! Its an MPC60 with a lot of extra features!! Everyone that says MPC2000 and above are useless and not a Roger Linn OS and blah blah... are full of ****!!

I work faster with this then I did with the 60 and I havent read the manual yet ... Its soooo easy to use! And the integration with the pc (Aksys).. man oh man, how sweat is that?

Get one, before its too late!

So from what i read in this forum the past 5 months akai is getting the 4000 back on track...

Man im just so **** hyped to be getting this machine, my life will be so much easier. aksys is a wetdream.

oh and that big screen is soo sexy

extremely stable, I've only had it lock up on me once, but then again I was doing shit that def would of crashed some other shit as well so its all good

I bought the MPC4000 when it first came out. I have all kinds of problems with this thing. As soon as I figure out a way to backup my programs I am going to upgrade the OS.

your programs are stored on the HD... just ak.sys your hd over

But there hasnt been a program incompatibility problem between OSs

I dont think you need to backup.. Would nt the OS update installed to the memory? Maybe disconnect your HD's first.. just to be sure
