used 4000 with no sound coming out

whatup yall i just copped a 4000 and everything looks right except no sound is coming out.. plugged in headphones an it wont work and also bought 2 bx5's with rca adapters to plug into the mpc and that did not work.. on the main screen it shows the IN meter bouncing when i hit a pad but the out wont show nothing.. is there something i need to do in options or are the rca cables wrong?.. thank you

Did you load some sounds into it ?

yea man i got it stocked with goodies.. checked the option that shows whats in each pad and its tellin me theres a sound in each pad but im getting nothing for sound.. when i got it i sampled the 4k an there was sound coming through the headphones.. this has to be somethin small an stupid im not seein but its drivin me nuts

I had a similar problem.

problem = loose ribbon cable inside.


open it up, take a look around and spot the loose cable, then slide it back into place

try program,assign....press pad ,scroll through samples.any sounds??no?trim window,any sounds?

also go to midi page and make sure pads are selected to play locally
