Turning on the 4K and auto loading

Fellow 4K users, is there such a way to boot up all you personal preferences automatic on start up, ie turn on power and it boots auto to all your settings that you prefer? thank you x

Unfortunately, unlike the 5k, the 4k doesn't have a auto load feature. As I understand it, this was a feature added to the 5k because folks wanted an mpc that was easier to use, not manually oriented like the others.

It's just a small inconvience if you don't mind setting things up on the 4k to load just by configuring your programs and samples accordingly. Stack everything you want to use under a particular program and it's ready when you need it.

Yes the 4000 has AUTOLOAD, I believe the feature was added with an OS update at some stage.

Whatever you want to autoload must be saved in the AUTOLOAD folder.

Guys, I stand to be corrected. I've seen the autoload option under global, but I never could find out how to use it. So with that being the case, I ended up putting that way back in the dungeon of my mind and forgetting about it.

But like I stated, without a clear, concise explination of how to use a feature, it's deemed useless to me. And the manual doesn't go into any detail about this feature. It's also sad to know that the 4k seemed to be the victim during the changing of the guard when Numark took the helm.

That's probably why folks didn't take too well to this modest machine.

Yep I use autoload 2. To set it up is easy as hell. Everything saved in folder named AUTOLOAD will be automatically loaded when u boot up MPC. Just make this folder in root folder.
Manual does not cover it 'cus it was added in OS update and you can find it in addendum. I think it was addes in 1.4 OS version.

^^^ def appreciate that. I went through all of the addendums, but there wasn't anything pinpointing autoload. So I made the folder in root, loaded the program I normally use, then went back to save the program to this folder, then did a reboot and ... presto.

It worked like a charm. And like you said, very easy.

Once again, big ups for that info.

its a mpc4000 global setting...nothing to do with aksys

need to know how to access the root folder

if you go to load file.....and then you see your hardrive at the top of the screen....and on left side below you see all these folders....

these folders are in the root directory....if you click on some of these folders you may find other folders in these....say my songs/song a/part 1.......neither song a or part 1 are root since my songs is above them

there is no folder actually labelled Root

In computer file systems, the root directory is the first or top-most directory in a hierarchy

sorry to be a pain i hit load and see the HD internal icon and to the right are some folders i made myself to store sounds in, but still i cant see how to get into the autoload file or place my programs and songs into it any ideas thank you

where u see the folders u made.....this is the root....

so here you should make a new seperate folder called AUTOLOAD.....this should not be inside any other folders....

then save your program of choice inside this folder
