What's up yall...just wanted to know if u can create programs ,seq..muti's,on ur 4000..and save them on a external hard drive ,to save memory on hard drive..holla back,please

no, you can only play mp3s on the mpc4000

maybe you should buy a walkman for external saving to cassette

A lot of folks use external usb HD enclosures (installed with whatever sized PATA drive they prefer using) with their 4k's, or 2500's, or 1k's or whatever.

Whatever you go with will do the same thing the internal drive does.............save & load data. The rest, the 4k's got that covered.

To Pulpsound:

1. Yes, you can save any file from the MPC 4000 to an external HD via the USB port on the front.

2. You can also back-up your MPC files to a CD-R or CD-RW, then insert the disc into your computer and drag the File folders to the desktop. [I have a DVD drive installed]


3. the MPC 4000 does NOT play the MP3 file format.
