Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I wanted to know if there is a way to adjust the track volume levels in the 4000. I have the audio outs from my motif going into the line in L/R and the main outs of the mpc going into my monitors. What I want to do is adjust the audio level of each track. Is there a way to do this?

Mixer button on the 4k? I'm a little confused because you're giving limited info. But if whatever you've recorded from the motif into the 4k, can be adjusted by pulling up the mixer and using the q-link.

The level of each track, where, tracks created in the motif?

The level of each track, where, tracks created in the mpc?

The level of each track, what? L/R audio in on the mpc, which would equate to mpc LINE IN volume gain?

Not specific enough to be answered.

What I am trying to do is adjust the audio levels coming out of the motif going into the line/in on the mpc. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to adjust each track volume. It would be nice if I could do it in the mixer page, but akai said that I can't do it on the 4000 and only on the 5000. So what I am doing is recording my midi events in the mpc, the audio is being sent from the motif to the mpc and out to my monitors from the mpc. I have midi out mpc to midi in motif. I have L/R out of motif into Line L/R in MPC. I have Main Out on MPC into monitors. I have a pattern set on the motif and what I want to be able to do is control the track levels on the MPC that is coming into the MPC. Is there a way to do this?

I figured it out nevermind. What I forgot to do is add a CC to the beginning of the track with a CC of 7 and then add in my value. The akai rep said its much easier on the 5000 since I can do it directly on the mixer page.

Really well implemented on the 5k once you know it's there and how it works, but until you do it can drive you crazy changing the level and panning on your external gear.

Still the mixer on the 4k is not bad.
