Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Yo Peeps,

just wondering if anyone has had this problem before. I use flash memory to save onto out of the front usb port on the 4000. When I insert a flash card it flashs and shows up in the Save/Load windows of the 4000. however (usually at the worst possible moment) sometimes when I insert the card the 4000 won't power the card up (the stick won't flash showing it has power) and the Save/Load menu dosen't show that there is a card there. I try another card or external hard drive with the same result.

Once I have turned the machine off (losing all that great work) and back on again the card will once again work. Very strange....

NB: I don't have an internal drive installed.

Any Ideas Folks?

Thanks

Bless Up!

After reading up about screen faults and the occurance of dry solder joints on other machines. I opened up the 4000, removed the usb board and found a dry solder on it. I Resoldered it and now the problem has gone....Hope this helps someone else out there.
