Using swing effectively?

Can I get some tips on using swing effectively and convincingly?
1) How do you guys utilize the swing feature?
2) On which soundsdo you use swing-i.e. just hats, or kicks and snares as well?
3) What percentages of swing are the most useful?
4) The 50% start has always been a bit confusing for me rather than 0% can anyone explain?

Swing places the notes in SLIGHTLY different places. It can give you a more choppy feel or more of a swinging human feel. Other then the manual's explanation, I would experment with it ALOT so you understand exactly what it is doing. Some people can't really tell at first but you will after a while. You can use swing on anything and everything.

1 Try it on your downbeat(snare) at 54/56 percent.

2 Look at above also set at earlier or later for your own feel and if you don`t like it press the undo button.

3 Experiment

4 50 is even no effect the same as 0 %

So at 54/56% with a zero at 50% would that make a comparative quantize to 8/12% with a zero swing starting at 0%. I am wondering because I have other drum machines that have their swing function starting at 0%

Anybody else? When is swing early preferable to swing late?
