New to the 4000

What up y'all. I just copped a used mpc4000 at guitar center for $650. I rushed home and printed out a manual and fired it up. I put all my favorite drums I used on my 2k and logic on a cd and tried to load them but when I go to the disk field in the load menu, it says no drive. WTF? I followed step by step instructions of the manual but it ain't showin up. Did they sale me a bad mpc? And oh yea, I tried the search function all night to no avail. Help a brutha out!!

well I dont own a 4k so I have not much experience... but out of curiosity, what type of disk did you burn?

Cd and dvd of one shot waves in folders. What kind should I burn?

it may be theres no hardrive installed...

I can't select the cdrom. Even though the thing opens up for me and takes the disk. When I spend the wheel it goes to event list but its empty.

oh maybe the cd rom's IDE cable got shaken loose... it is possible that it could happen. It looks as if your power cable (molex) is still connected fine but it isn't sending the data to the mpc maybe.

cd.....afaik mpcs werent delievered with dvd player......so if youre tryin to load a dvd it wont see it
