Internal memory ugrade...how to?

Does anyone know how you go about upgrading the internal memory of the MPC 4000? I have opened it up as detailed in the appendix of the manual as I need to install a cd/dvd drive. I have located what I assume is the memory at the back right of the chassis. Any suggestions about suitable memory types would be appreciated as it seems I only have 16MB (according to the memory page of my mpc4k.) Thanks...

First, I'd see if reseating the memory will cause it to be seen by the system. And per akai pro's website, these are the required ram specs for the mpc 4k...

Thanks for the reply. I have confused the internal HD and ram capacities. However seeing as we are on the subject, how can you check to see how much internal ram is installed? How do you check your HD capacity? I am asking these questions as I would like to max it out before getting into using the mpc4k.

The quickest way to check as far as I know...global button for memory, save button to check hd capacity.

I think I have it now. It seems that the mpc 4000 at one time shipped with 16MB memory as standard, expandable to 512MB. So it seems I really do have this pitiful amount of space to utilise. Must get this corrected asap.
