"for that i suggest to use a softsequencer with it to."
I would not spend that kinda cash just to buy something else to make it work better...
"Be leary of some of the suggestions on this board, because I believe some of these guys dont even have a 4000. Some their questions are borderline childish "
ohh I know..

not only this site, but the internet in general.
"if you like the 2k sequencer you'll love the 4ks, just a little getting used to.."
yea, but that's the thing.. when I wanna knock out a track, I wanna do it right away. I love my XL, but I'd like to (1) have a HD to store my personal samples. Right now, I use an s-1000HD, but I wouldn't need it if I had the 4K.. (2)I run some samples through filtering units that I wouldn't need if I had the 4K. (3) to stretch my samples, I usually do em all at the same time and the XL by itself is slow. (4) no usb support.. (5) faster processor in the 4k speeds re-sampling...there's a lot more reasons, but I can get by with the XL. My biggest gripe is that my MPC has a broken data wheel, it won't play note offs in song chain mode, and some of the buttons work when they want to.. I work the ish out my XL, and to fix all these problems would hit me for the cost of a new one. I can sell it for $600 and use that towards the 4k.. nahmean..
